Hello! It's been more than a month since my last entry... Just wanted
to wait till I got back from my Europe trip so that I have an exciting
thing to blog about. YES! I am home safely from my 2 week holiday with
my partner. Thank heavens and for all the blessings from friends and
family. Was quite skeptical about Europe because of their notoriety.
Anyway, I will do a post on every country or city that I went to. Before
going I was so excited to blog about it, but now, I'm dreading it!!!
Perhaps I just want to have a whole week all to myself doing nothing at
home - watching the bachelorette hahaha. The trip was really fun yet
tiring as hell!
A real setback even before we
got there because, FLIGHT DELAY. We would have arrived in the morning
in Paris. So from there, we will start out exploration. But because of
the delay, it just screwed up the schedule. We managed to figure
something out and because of our first class privileges, the wait wasn't
alllllll that bad.
This
is me in the lounge waiting for our food. Actually the time passed
pretty quick because we had a room to sleep and basically, awesome
facilities. We never expected the lounge to have - I think they call it a
slumberette if I'm not mistaken. It was amazing! Jamie slept throughout
while I just kept watching movies on the ipad.
It was time for our flight!!! FINALLY! :D
Some pictures on the plane before take-off. How cool is the last one! They show you footage of when the plane is taxiing and taking-off. And here's more when the plane was cruising. The toilets... oh the TOILETS. They were so nice and spacious! And they have this nice mirror for an OOTD hahaha! Look at me in those cloth slippers. So dorkish.
The food... one was good and one wasn't. Nasi lemak was AWESOME! I swapped some prawn dish for it. The prawns were mushy and tasteless (sorry no picture)! The fish dish with the pea puree wasn't that good as well. But I ate it anyway. Got good sleep and it was almost time for landing!! YAY super excited!
DAY 1 PARIS
So we arrived in Charles De Gaulle Aeroport. Wow feeling so pumped! I practically skipped my way through the airport hahah! Here are some pictures.
Our bus ticket to the hotel!
Love how they have balconies at every single unit of every apartment. It's so cute.
Some city shots while we were in the bus. Was just in awe and excitement throughout the whole ride. So after that we checked in the hotel where we could leave our luggage behind and wash up. Some selfies in the hotel are mandatory!
OOTD1
Me & my loveeeeeeee <3 Yes there is a lock on my handbag HAHA
FINALLY, it is finally time to explore the city. Lets get our asses moving here!
Some cute ride that we saw by the streets.
Their metro. It is super looooong compared to Malaysia. And also very wide.
Notre-dame stop.
Some food to stuff my fat cheeks with. I love chips :(
Beautiful eyh?
First destination was Notre-Dame. This building as almost 800 years old
and was built to have a sort of a gothic style (yes I googled). It is
beautiful but I don't really know how to admire or appreciate these cathedrals :/ For
me, it's just snap photos and "okay! Let's go!".
Next up, was the Lovers Bridge!! It was my dream to go there! Always seeing it in movies picturing it to be one of the most romantic things to do with the love of your life. And there I was with mine! You are actually suppose to get a lock, write whatever you like on it
with your lover, lock it, and throw the key into the river so that the
it stays locked eternally. But we all know that they remove it after
awhile.. hahaha. Feeling so much love and happiness on that bridge, with the view, cruises, love birds and everything else made this visit truly magical. But the sun and heat was really beating down on us.
The funny thing is we did not leave out lock there. Because there were TOO MANY! If you saw the pics, someone placed a bicycle lock on this bridge and everyone else locked their lock on it. It's really funny, I mean... why would you want to lock your love on someone else's love? It's just.. weird!
Right after that, we walked to the Pantheon. It is originally built as a church but now as a mausoleum and a very popular tourist attraction. Just went there for pictures of course.
Kinda proud of my bronzer there.
It was a beautiful day, my love.
swag is my middle name.
Later on, we walked to the Louvre (triangle museum as I call it haha). This building really amazed me architecture wise. I mean, who came up with the design?! It is definitely one of its kind. Here are some pictures and also some along the way as we stroll to the Louvre.
Dropped by their local market and Jamie loves going to markets. So here are some dead chickens. RIP :(
Me eating a baguette sexily...
The man behind wishing he had ass like that.
we found this restaurant to be extremely cute with that little platform on the outside. And also who names their restaurant "restaurant"? "Let's chill at Restaurant Restaurant!" LOL
You not only can rent bicycles, but cars as well. Say what?
Not really on point but whatever, as long as outfit looks good. Am I right or AM I RIGHT...
DON'T JUDGE ME. I actually did it because everyone else was doing so. And my feet hurt so much from walking all day. The water was COLD AS ICE. Super soothing. GOD. AMAZING.
SELFIE before we go in to visit my lovely friend - Mona Lisa.
Why hello there Miss Mona Lisa. You're much smaller in person.
The crowd to see the iconic painting.
Without a doubt we were mainly there to see Mona Lisa. There are still many and I mean MANY parts to this museum. Only historians or art enthusiasts would spend days here to admire these beautiful paintings and sculptures. But for us, we would just go for the typical mainstream stuff, taking pictures of what seemed nice to us. Yeah that's pretty much it.
The crowd of the whole museum though.... insane. And it was so hot in there! Jamie said the Europeans don't practice Air-conditioning and man was she right. Even most of the cars that we see on the road, wind down their windows! It's actually really nice to see all of them so united and eco-friendly. But I seriously find it impossible to practice this in Malaysia.. I mean... the haze, heat, rain, and SNATCH THIEVES makes it impossible to do so.

This is not Triumph de Arc haha
After the Louvre we just strolled along
Champs-Elysees where the major shopping sites were located. It was
pretty late at that time because of our flight delay therefore shopping
was cut short. We only managed to get some Kenzo tees for ourselves.
YAY!
Paris style tuktuk
Paris polices look so fit! *ahem*

YES LADUREE! Didn't get it this time because the queue was crazy!
Just thought the monkeys were so adorable.
ALSO, my first gelato in 3 weeks! I was holding my ice cream until I reached Europe as an added excitement to be there. AND MAN it was like licking heaven. Current ice cream addiction is definitely caramel and hazelnut flavour. Don't ask me why, it just it! They taste awesome ok.
After some shopping we were making our way to the river for our cruise and also to have dinner. Can't remember if we were hungry that time but I was definitely beat. All I thought of was sleep. it was already 7pm which means in Malaysia is 1am. Not forgetting the hectic day of sight-seeing? Extremely bright for 7pm.
We just went in any cafe that we thought looked good and this was it. Sat outside. It seemed like nobody liked to sit inside in Paris so we followed the trend. I ordered duck and she ordered hamburger! Food was okay to us. Just glad we got to eat like locals and nothing fancy. Nothing fancy but already cost more than rm100 for this meal. *sigh* dollar for dollar nik, dollar for dollar.
8pm came and it was time for our river cruise!!! Again there was a freaking long lineeeeeeeeee. Like give me a break :(. Why... I was so tired but it was definitely worth it. Loved the river cruise because we got to see the transition of day to night sky which was beautiful. The river cruise lasted for about an hour. I was chilled to the bone as the night grew colder.

Fabulosity.
It was so fun and lovely during the river cruise because whenever 2 cruise boats passed each other, both sides would be cheering and waving at one another. I would wave like a crazy while Jamie gave me disapproving stares (LOL).
At times there would be a wedding reception going on which got the crowd even more wild. We would also wave to people on the bridge. It just seemed like anyone we saw, we just waved and cheered haha.
I also made another conclusion, is that every bridge in Paris has locks on it. Like no joke. hahaha. Do people have like some sort of addiction here? haha just kidding guys.
It's also really nice observing people from the sidewalks. I just love observing people honestly. See the way Parisians spend their free time just having picnics or wine by the river. It made me realize how laid-back their lives are.
They too host little dance circles consisting of many different genres of dance! It was so cool! Some were dancing the tango, some freestyle, some latin. Seeing the way they enjoyed their weekend was awesome and refreshing.
Us and the tower while we were on our cruise.
The
Eiffel Tower was pretty! Also much smaller in person haha. The night
view of it was definitely tons better than day view. We even got to see
the light show at 9pm! It sparkled so brightly.
Was really tired at this time and made our way back to the hotel. Suddenly we realized that we left the Kenzo bag on the cruise boat. Panic we were in, Jamie ran off to get it while I waited somewhere. Thank god the employees were nice enough to return it to us! Really applaud them for this.
This is the end of day one! Slept instantly once my head touched the pillow.
DAY 2 PARIS
First and foremost, OOTD2!!!! One of the most exciting parts of the trip is getting to wear all my new clothes that I have been saving for the longest time for this trip. hahaha I'm crazy i know. So tired, didn't get much sleep because as you all know holidays are spent outdoors more than indoors. Unless you go to those beach side villa kind la!
2 chubby people getting chubbier together hahah. Day 2 okay what did we do on day 2. Oh right we went to the Palace of Versailles! The journey there was pretty long as it was quite far away from the city centre.
It took about an hour's journey there and OMG the queue... don't even have the words to describe. It's just like majorly crowded. The queue was like a snake and we were definitely at it's tail. About more than 10 long limes in front of us. And to add to that, the sun felt like burning stones on my skin.
Many people brought hats, umbrellas, fans, and whatnot. We didn't have any shade except hiding behind this tall man in front of us. SO SO HOT even for a Malaysian like me. Shocking to see some people are even wearing blazers, suits, and what seemed to me like winter wear to me. I mean GOSH those clothes probably have integrated AC inside. RIGHT?!?!
Selfie at the train station.
Walking towards the palace.
BOW DOWN.
YES. THIS IS THE QUEUE.
Sigh... Glad I've been there and done that so I won't have to go through that again. Inside was beautiful. Like a museum and most of the furniture and art are all kept original from that time. Can you believe that they use gold foil as decoration? SO beautiful.
Getting close to entering!
On the inside of the gate.
Look at the amazing art work.
Beautiful gold details everywhere you look.
I wanna fall... from the chandelier..
This was definitely my room in my past life!
Some paintings were being restored and fixed.
Gold details all over and can you imagine how much time and effort was put into building this place? There was something interesting at every corner inside this palace. I simply just cannot fathom what is it like to live in the place like this! Obviously to the royalties it was nothing but I mean... WOW you know? Exquisite work of art.
We were about to leave.
Inside there was real stuffy and I could barely breath at some points. Disadvantages of being short. :( It was hot in there... definitely didn't have the time to really admire anything as you were just pushed by people throughout the whole walk. But now as I look back at the pictures.. I get to admire it again and it's amazing.
After a crazy queue, wait, and finally done with the inside of the palace. It was time to go to their garden! You would not believe the enormity of their land. I think the palace was only 1/10 of their land and the rest was the garden! HUGEEEEEE!
Obviously we will not be able to visit every corner of the place so the fastest way we thought was to just sit the train. Another long queue. What's new. Finally got on the train and it was bumpy as hell! At times my whole body would fly up from the seat. This is because the roads were from last time. It was like those old brick roads you know?
Got to go around and they would tell us a little about the things that we were seeing. Nice way to explore the garden. While on it we saw so many people having picnics, jogs, and walks with their dogs. Loving the European lifestyle hello! It's ideal. Reason why there were so many people in the garden is because there is on queue to get in. So yeah.
We just sat on the train the whole time until we reached back to the original spot and left the palace. Here are some pictures.
This is called the dragon's pond if I'm not mistaken lol
Can you imagine coming here for a picnic. This is the life...
Bumpy ride...
There were many other activities there as well.
Goodbye Palace of Versailles!!!!! Starving at that time so we stopped by the nearest place we could find food and guess what? ..............McDonaldsssssss
We've always tried MCD when we go traveling. It's like a tradition for us :). It's quite nice! I had the chicken and bacon wrap. It was nice! But the nuggets were mushy and quite frankly - tasteless. After we went back to Champs-Elysees to see Triumph De Arc before we said goodbye to Paris.
Quite a beauty. Oh yea and that's the arc.
Wanted to take this since I saw it. HAHA cause you know... I'm a shortie *badumtssss* It actually means exit in French.
After visiting the arc, we spend our last few hours again taking the train to a far away place. Which is the outlet shopping known as La Vallee!!! We actually thought it was at the last stop of that track, which was actually the Disney Land stop, but it wasn't. We were already very late to begin with and because of the misstep it costs us time.
Then we had to wait for the train and head back one stop to reach La Vallee. We only had about an hour left once we actually reached the place. Which was really short. Managed to get a few things but the highlight of the day was getting to eat this ice cream that I've always seen on Facebook. Which is the ice cream shaped like a FLOWERRRR! Woah right?
The ice cream that I was talking about!!!! SO HAPPY! Tasted amazing as well.
Running around the village frantically trying to go in every shop before time was up! It was crazy and tiring. Towards the last 15mins before it closes, it started raining! Which adds to the chaos. In the end we managed to get some things.
Tired as can be we decided to just head back to the hotel and pack something nearby. I mean that day we traveled to 2 ends of Paris! One was the palace then the outlet shopping. Probably added up to about 4 hours of train rides that day. Exhausted! Phew!
Shared it <3
We packed Chinese and it wasn't that bad but definitely hit home for us. Awww. I missed home on the second day. hahaha.
This wraps up Paris for us. Yes when you think of
Paris you think LOVE, ROMANCE, EIFFEL TOWER, BEAUTY, DREAMY, etc, am I
right? Exactly what I thought too, but I guess I got my expectations too
high because it wasn't what I thought it out to be.
The city kinda smelled like pee - according to Jamie. And there was just this huge insecurity and paranoia in us, thinking if we were going to get into any trouble. Thank god we didn't though. Really thankful!
But of course, it also depends on who you spend time with. Definitely, getting to spend any time with Jamie is most romantic for me. I love you Baby, you're amazing. Thanks for an amazing start of our trip.
To be continued.....
